To My Son, JM

You have grown to be
A wonderful man to see
The praises I hear from others
Makes me proud to be your mother.

You are understanding
Never demanding
You have a good heart
You’re honest and true.

You have given me delight
As you grow in my sight
Little steps you slowly took
Brings you sure to your nook.

Now, my wishes for you
Many things to laugh
Real good friends to chat
And more dreams to catch.

Happy birthday!

Noise
Loud, boisterous
Deafening, earsplitting, piercing
Clamor, sound ..... Hush, quiet
Soothing, calming, consoling
Peace, tranquility
Silence

Joshua Miguel (resembles God)
He is the first
To feel our love and bliss
Loving, caring and polite
Always makes your day bright.

Kevin Bryan (dignified and strong)
He's the middle child
Smart and funny inside
Keeps the family intact
With his charming act.

Peter Benjamin (son of my strength)
The youngest of them all
Sweet and adorable you can call
His cry makes you strong
His laughter makes you whole.

They are my treasure
My greatest gifts for sure
My pride, my joy
And I love them all!

For the gift of family
You gave so dearly
Joy and charity I learned quickly
Thank you, Oh my God!

For giving me friends
Which for me are great finds
Genuine goodness, I easily can send
Thank you, Oh my God!

For having to put people in my care
Lets me brush away my scare
Patience and kindness I gladly can share
Thank you, Oh my God!

For letting me undergo that great fall
Made me renew my faith to all
And bravely come back and stand tall
Thank you, Oh my God!

For whatever and however
I live my life ever
You will forever be nearer
Because You are my Father
For these, Oh my God, I thank you!

When you need a hand
To help you through
When you need an ear
To listen to you
I'm here, just here.

If you're lost and confused
And needed someone to guide you
If you're sad and feeling blue
And wanted to try something new
I'll be here...for you.

When you're not so sure
And you need confirmation
When you are hesitant
And you need a push
I'm here, I'm here.

Sometime you're just too tired
And you need some support
Sometimes you just can't go on
And you need one who can continue for you
I'll be here...more than willing.

When you are so inspired
And you want to talk about it
When you are so happy
You want to celebrate
I'm here. . . always here.

PROMISE YOURSELF

To be so strong that nothing can disturb
your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to
every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel like there is
something in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your
optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best,
and expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on the
greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give
every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too
strong for fear, and too happy to permit the
presence of trouble.

"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging symbol."

-1 Corinthians 13:1-

The bible says that "real" love has these qualities: It is patient and kind, never boastful, proud, or envious. It isn't rude or self-seeking. It doesn't get mad easily or keep a record of wrongs. It is never happy to see evil triumph and always rejoices when the truth is told. It protects, trusts, hopes, and perserveres. So pure is love that the Bible says it never fails. Determine to walk in love each day. You are sure to make a great difference in the lives of all those you encounter.

"Love is a verb."
It is an action word, show it!

In my grade school years, there is this one poem that my teacher made us memorize. I still remember some part of that poem (though not its title) and it made me appreciative of the things around me.

This is how I remember it...

I KNOW A PLACE
WHERE NO ONE EVER GOES
THERE'S PEACE AND QUIET
BEAUTY AND REPOSE
IT'S HIDDEN IN THE VALLEY
BESIDE THE MOUNTAIN STREAM
AND LYING THERE BESIDE THE STREAM
I FIND THAT I CAN DREAM
ONLY OF THINGS
OF BEAUTY TO THE EYES
SNOW-PEAKED MOUNTAIN
TOW'RING TO THE SKIES
NOW, I KNOW THAT GOD MADE THIS WORLD FOR ME.

I CAN IMAGINE
MYSELF AS IN A DREAM
CLIMBING THAT MOUNTAIN
AND DOWN THAT SMALL RAVINE
THE MAGIC OF THIS PEACE AND QUIET
EVER SHALL STAY
TO MAKE THIS PLACE A HEAVEN
EACH AND EVERY DAY
OH, HOW I WISH
I NEVER HAVE TO LEAVE
AND ALL MY LIFE
SUCH BEAUTY TO RECEIVE
NOW, I KNOW THAT GOD MADE THIS WORLD FOR ME.
